iPhoto Library Import-Now what? #1

Joseph,

So, cleaned up my iPhoto library and I imported the library into Aperture. I was surprised to see that when it imported the library, it created a new folder named iPhoto with all the imported pictures there.

So now what, just rename and drag the projects where I want them? I had expected that it would have dumped all the “events” into the “projects”, actually it was nice that they are separated.

Any other words of wisdom before I mess this up?

Thanks!

Mark,

Nope not really (words of wisdom), it’s all up to you in how you rename and rearrange (if you even do). The collection dropped into an “iPhoto” folder is so you can separate from the rest of your Library, in the event you had imported into an existing large Library.

Of course if you need tips on how to arrange, check out the first few Live Training videos or the “ApertureExpert’s 15 Tips on File Management in Aperture 3” ebook. Decisions on how you arrange things is something to plan well so you have a strategy with longevity.
