Hey there
well long time ago I messed up some 3000 photos by converting them to DNG
some how i messed up because Aperture can't read them
i Had a backup but some how i am doomed coz the original NEF files where lost du to a reason crash and guess what my backup missed the folder 2011… but i have a back but they are DNGs
So should i convert them to Tiff or JPG

JPG or Tiff

Henrik,
It’s a tradeoff as are most things in life. Size vs. quality.
If you have plenty of drive space, go for TIFF to retain the best quality. I think the TIFF files might be bigger than the DNGs.
If you’re running out of space you could go JPG. But if you then delete the DNGs you’ll be stuck forever at the JPG quality level.

Download the latest Adobe DNG converter (its free), convert them to the latest DNG file format, then see if Aperture can read them. You can convert DNG to DNG using that tool just like converting any other raw format to DNG.
