My Library won't open; it's stuck on “Opening Aperture Library” #1

I am having an issue with my Libraries not opening and it is getting stuck in the “Opening Aperture Library” dialog. This is happening for all my Aperture Libraries, big and small. I did see the solution in the FAQ section, but none of my Libraries have ever been opened in iPhoto. In fact, I don't remember the last time I launched iPhoto. This issue is happening about 1 once a week for me and the only way for me to fix it is to trash Aperture and then re-install. This re-install process is a pain in the butt because I don't have a MacApp store version.

I am currently running Aperture 3.4.3 with MacOS 10.7.5 on an old MacPro.

Does anyone have any ideas on a long term fix for this issue?

Jennifer,

Apologies for the delay. I’ve missed a lot of posts in the last month+ and am just catching up on the ones with zero replies.

Have you tried trashing the preferences or rebuilding the library? Trashing the app itself shouldn’t have much of an effect to be honest, and I’m surprised it’s making a difference.
