I have problems that have appeared after I downloaded Aperture 3.5.1

(1) I am no longer able to keep an original image along with the edited one(s). To keep it I have to make a duplicate to keep on hand, otherwise I lose the original.

(2) I am no longer able to edit with Viveza 2. I get the spinning wheel of death, then Aperture crashes.

All of this was happening before I moved up to OS Mavericks, so I can’t blame it on that. I also did a library rebuild off Aperture.

Has anyone encountered and (hopefully) solved these problems?
