I just hope there is a landslide effect tomorrow … including major updates to Aperture, iWork and more to go along with the OS … While I don’t mind the notifications features coming in ML … I WANT more … :D …

I would reckon iWorks would get an update and then a trickle effect down all the other products. Unless there is already code in aperture 3.3 for Mountain Lion just waiting to be unleashed.

Is anyone doing a fresh install, i.e. making a boot disk and wiping Lion out before hand or are you just going to install over the top?

My plan is to eradicate Lion and then install Lion via a boot disk and the re-install everything again.

That’s exactly what I am hoping … that Aperture 4 (or whatever they name it) is OS dependent for some functionality and the reason we haven’t seen it earlier …

Almost always, when I install a new OS, I clone the startup drive, then perform a clean install of the new OS, then pull over my apps and personal data using Migration Assistant … just to keep things tidy … but many go the install in place route without issue …

Whichever way you go … follow these threes steps before you install 10.8 … 1) Backup your drive. 2) Back up your drive. … and lastly … 3) BACK UP YOUR DRIVE! … ;-)

I don’t think we’ll necessarily see an up date to Aperture (hope I’m wrong!). I’ve been running 10.8 for some months and it has become increasingly better with Aperture as builds progressed. I still have the occasional graphics glitch, but other than that, it’s fine. Aperture 3.3.1 was a big improvement. I’m expecting up dates to some of the other Apple apps though, e.g., iWork is as old as Aperture 3 … but without retina support and iCloud support. :)

Oh well … right and wrong in one go. A little update. Very welcome and encouraging too.

I have money in my iTunes account waiting for its release. I believe there is an all nighter being pulled at apple stores in order to have mountain lion available to show off tomorrow.

The notifications center is going to be interesting feature for me, The ability to tweet & post Facebook updates from your desktop.
