New Aperture Library #1

I decided to separate (for the future) my Aperture Libraries into ‘Years’.  Not only does this make more sense from an organizational standpoint, but it now immediately cuts my Library from over 72 GB to less than 15 GB. So, I followed the protocol in creating a new Aperture Library 2015 by selecting the 2015 Projects in my original library and ‘exporting to new Aperture Library’.  After doing this I notices that while the new library works just fine, the old library still has the same projects there with the previews. Is this normal or should the projects have completely moved over to the new library? Thanks for any help.

Exporting something does not delete it. You must manually delete projects from any Aperture library.

BUT FIRST MAKE SURE THE EXPORTED LIBRARY IS WORKING RIGHT.

Oh, and of course you have backups of everything just in case, right?

Makes sense. And the new library is working like a dream. Much faster and now I am in a better position to migrate to a new editor. Thanks Thomas.
