I want to make an additional copy of my Aperture and iPhoto libraries before I upgrade tonight. My library is managed, never made any changes to the way Aperture set it up. If I just copy the file to a separate external drive, that will take everything with it, right? (Masters, etc.)
I already have a separate vault setup on another drive also.

If you have a managed library, as you say, simply copy it to another drive. Everything goes with it.
This is what I like about running a managed library.
Yes, once everything is managed it makes it easy to make extra backups. :)
