reconnecting pictures in Aperture #1

Hi,

I am currently using Aperture 2.1.4. In order to keep the aperture library at a reasonable size, I have always used reference files, saving my picture in an external hard drive.

One day, the portable hard drive crashed. Fortunately, I had always made a back up of it.
Unfortunately, in the process, Aperture has lost all links to the picture, I am therefore trying to reconnect what is in the library with what is in my back up hard drive.

My issue is that there are quite a lot of file which won’t reconnect. Same picture, same name, same size, but the “reconnect button” won’t work…
Does someone has an idea of what to do and how to solve the problem?

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your tips. The “Force” reconnect button is working great!
I also rebuilt my library, and it is now working much better. I was working from an external hardrive that had issues, and it is now much better.

Thanks for the tips.

Arnaud,

Great news! Glad to hear it worked. It doesn’t always ;-)

Hold down the option key and the “reconnect” button should light up. It’s a form of “force reconnect”.

If that doesn’t do it, have you rebuilt the library (hold down command-option on launch)? What else have you tried?
