SLOW import from CD in A3 #1

So, I am in the process (4hrs so far) of importing 125 shots form a CD. It just keeps churning and churning with no end in sight. I can’t even get an estimate of time remaining. What gives? Is this an indication of corruption or is it something else. Also, the thumbnails are extremely pixilated.

Kevin,

Your question is a few days old so perhaps you’ve solved it by now, but a few things pop into mind. For one, CD’s are notoriously slow… I’d copy the files to the HD first, then import into Aperture. If they never imported, it could have been a corrupted file. Finally for the low-rez (pixelated) thumbnails, they will start that way before they are redrawn by Aperture at full 1024 size. If they don’t redraw, select the menu Photos > Generate Thumbnails to force Aperture to redraw them.
