What is the recommended workflow for adjusting exposure for video shot in raw?

I exported a clip to desktop. Dragged into imovie. Adjusted (very crudely) in imovie. Exported to desktop and dragged back into aperture.

There must be a better way.

Rob,

You’ve basically got it. There are no editing tools in Aperture for video color adjustments, so yes, you have to export and import. You could set a video editor as the “external editor” in the preferences for movie files, but I haven’t found a workflow there that’s clean, either.

If you shoot a lot of video, you may prefer to simply import directly into iMovie, if that’s the software you like using, and leaving it there.

Also, FYI, you’re not shooting video in RAW. Your camera shoots stills in RAW, but not video. Depending on the camera, it could be an MPEG-4 format, or AVCHD, or a variety of others. But not RAW. Unless you’re shooting 4k on the RED camera, it’s not RAW, and you wouldn’t be editing those in iMovie ;-)

cheers
