Sometimes when I open an Aperture library, the little gear on the bottom, toward the left side, spins and spins and next to it, the word “Synchronizing” alternating at times with “Processing” is shown. This can continue “forever”. I think it has continued overnight when I left it that long. I am not sure how to correct this. I did correct permissions, repaired the library, and even rebuilt the library without helping this issue.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Kevin

You might have some corrupted images causing you problems. Ddid this just start tp happen since the last import or two? If you can open the activity window you can see if the images are changing or hanging up. Restart Ap with out building previews shoot Ill get back to you on that my marbles are loose.

“In Aperture, you can suppress preview generation when opening Aperture, allowing you to more easily identify the damaged image files. To do this, press the Shift key while opening Aperture. You can also cancel the current preview maintenance operation using the Activity window.” On line Aperture Manual http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/

I didn’t know about the activity window. There was a gallery that seemed to hang up that I deleted. Not sure if all is resolved but it seems better. Thanks for the ideas.
