I have a 12 mp canon and I would like a workflow from start, cropping, adjustments to print a 16*9 print at 300 dpi. I have downloaded your first 20 webinars and although I understand the principle of resolution I would like a workflow to get from an imported JPEG to export a file to the print company who require “Here at DS COLOUR Labs Ltd we use Fuji Frontier 570 printers. All images should be supplied as SRGB or with our own profiles as JPEG files at 300 dpi and sized to the correct output size required.”

Many thanks.

Derek.

Hi Derek  Place your icc profiles in the “Home” Library_  color sync  _ profiles .  You get there through the finder….. hold down the option key and click on the menu item _ GO .. look for the Lib .  Then follow the path to color sync and profiles.  I believe that should work.  Cheers DBM   Sorry I need to delet this ,  it was meant for another post.  OOPS

Ok if you are uploading files to be printed by someone else you need to get comfortable with the Export dialogue box.   You ultimate want (as us describe above)  a Jpeg  at 300 dpi  ,  in a pixel or inch format that you like, and with a profile of Srgb.  Start by making a preset of the size (which could be original size), DPI,  srgb and in a Jpeg / jpg  format.

Click on any image or an image you really want and go to file _ Export  Version.  When that dialogue box opens look for Export Preset and the arrow next to it to show all the choices.  In the list of choices go to the bottom and click on edit presets.  Now since you want a Jpg choose one of them and duplicate it, rename it, and change its properties to what you want.  Once the preset is made you can quit that export and find  the image you want to print and use the new preset to export it to the desktop and send it.  You can delete the exported image after you send it cause its a copy of what you have in your AP lib.   Im sure I left out a ton of stuff but start looking around and ask more questions  Cheers
