If your Aperture library won’t open (this is post 3.3 only), try opening the Library in iPhoto (9.3 or later) first. There were reports around the Aperture 3.3.2 timeframe where some Libraries that had previous ties to iPhoto were not opening in Aperture, but by simply opening them in iPhoto, closing that then opening the same Library in Aperture, the problem went away.
