Syncing photos to my iPhone or iPad is a mess
Often an iPhone or iPad synced to Aperture results in a confusing jumble of photos that aren’t in any sensible order on your iDevice. This is a workaround found by one of our readers, gfsymon, that may work for you.
- Disable syncing in iTunes and then sync your iPhone. You now have no images at all on your iPhone.
- Open Aperture and make a new project called iPhone
- Create a new Album in this project, for each Album you want on your iPhone. Here’s the important bit … make them in the order you want them to appear on your Phone.
- Drag the images you want on your iPhone (from other projects) into the relevant Albums
- Quit Aperture to make sure it’s not doing anything in the background
- Open iTunes and in the Photos tab, select manual sync and then select the checkboxes of the Albums you’ve just created
- Sync your iPhone
- Be happy
Another solution is to not use Aperture at all, but instead to export photos to a folder which is synced to your iDevice. If you manage multiple libraries, this is the simplest way to go.
