Blackmagic Design Micro Studio Camera 4K Analysis, part-1
Photo Moment - December 23, 2016
The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera is amazing. Configuring it through your ATEM is pretty straightforward once you know the one setting that has to be right. White balance has some shortfalls which can be overcome with Lift, Gamma and Gain adjustments, but I'd still like to see more WB capabilities. There are no software scopes on the camera or the ATEM so you need yet more hardware to do that accurately, which I talk about here as well. Overall it's a great camera and it does what I needed — it has virtually zero latency between live and the SDI signal, which is critical to my workflow. But watch the video to learn everything in detail!

A reasonably good vision

Just found a 'guy' selling a BMD Micro Studio Camera 4K with Lens & Video Assist for $450 and he is local... Getting specs on lens. Is there anything I should be looking for when evaluating the purchase of a used camera?
Thanks!
Matt
And does your ATEM 2/ME switcher run 24/7?
I didn't notice a Gen Lock cable connected to your camera... Are you using a master sync for your studio?
Thanks,
Matt
Great work! I am building out a corporate training system in my office. I am building it on the Blackmagic Design Micro Studio Camera 4K and the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K Switcher. My camera to subject distance is 2.5' with the green screen being 4' behind subject. Lighting will be high 45 degree side fills with subject key light. My question is regarding lens/camera... My setup appears to be similar to yours and was wondering what lens you are using now and are you still happy with Micro Studio Camera 4K?
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I somehow lost my password. I love any tricks you can give me.
Looking forward to Part II and bug you with some more questions hehe. Cheers.
I suppose the Video Assist 4K 7" would work but when you multiple everything by two, it's getting out of my reach.
But I really like the idea of this camera and all the things you can do with it.
