Duplicate photo from original #1

In Photos for Mac you can duplicate a photo from the original, so you can start fresh with a raw file. Now that iCloud Photo Library is syncing raw files to iOS, so you can edit them there, is it possible to duplicate from originals in the Photos app?

Most of my raw files only show up as jpeg in iOS. When I try to open them in Snapseed, only a handful triggers the raw functions, while most open as jpeg. I might have done small adjustments to many of them on the mac, which is why it wont give me the raw, but a lot of them I haven’t. I tried to duplicate from original on the mac, and then it worked. So it seems to need an “untouched” file, but I can’t create that i iOS. As far as I know. Haven’t found an app in the App store that does this either.

Any tips?

To duplicate a photo in Photos for iOS, you need to use the Share Sheet. It’s one of the options in the gray icon row. It will duplicate including all existing adjustments but you can pick one of the duplicates and revert to original.
