Greetings folks!

I’m thrilled to announce the latest Preset Packs, #3 and #4 — both chock full of delicious textured goodness!

(And no you didn’t miss anything… #2 is still in development)

Textures #3 & #4

These new Preset Packs bring a whole new capability to Aperture 3 that simply didn’t exist before. With these presets, you can create images entirely in Aperture that simply weren’t possible before without leaving the application. These textures are provided by Trey Ratcliff of Stuck in Customs, and come from his Ultimate Textures Collection.

Head on over to the product page to learn more and download the packs! At only $4.99 each, you may want to pick up both of ‘em…

Looks #1

The original “Looks” Pack, now renamed Preset Pack #1 “Looks” is now also only $4.99—but it’s changed from the original pack. I removed half of it; the “gradients” set. After talking with many users I determined that it wasn’t adding that much value, but of course you were paying for it. So I’ve removed that portion, and dropped the price.

If you bought the original Preset Pack any time in 2011 and you found the gradients lacking, and now wish you could have had something else, let me know. Forward me your receipt from paypal with the subject “Presets—I’d like credit, please!” and I’ll send you credit for $4.99 that you can use on one of the other Preset Packs. Please do be sure to set the subject to “Presets—I’d like credit, please!” as that will help me process your request quickly.

Looks #2

I’m still working on the second “Looks” pack, but got inspired to do the Textures one so jumped ahead a bit. If you love the original “Looks” and are waiting for some more, I opened a discussion here and I’d love to hear what you want!

I hope you enjoy these new presets!

Nice pack! However, I have a whole bunch of textures which I used to use with photoshop. How would I do if Id like to use them with photos in Aperture?

Andreas,

Sorry, *that’s* a secret :) Actually it’s not that hard and I may reveal it in a live training one day.

Joseph,

Oddly I was going to ask the same question whether the method to get those textures in there was a secret or not. It hurts my brain not knowing how you did it.

The technique is the same that I did for the first preset pack with the noise patterns, but I’ve refined the process. No point keeping secrets for too long, so I will reveal it at some point sooner rather than later. It’s not really a big secret though and once you figure it out it’s easy to do, but I’ve refined it to the point of making it REALLY easy to do :)

soon, soon…

Thank you very much for these texture packs Joseph.
I just figured out how to add my own textures into Aperture, I am surprised how easy it is. I might have different approach though. Nonetheless I am one of your fans and don’t want to steal your thunder so I keep it for myself. Looking forward to see yours and I am going to buy your packs now. :)
Thanks again.
