Digital Camera RAW Update 4.07 for Aperture and iPhoto

Not sure how I missed this one last week, but here you go… the latest Digital Camera RAW update from Apple, weighing in a 4.07, provides support for three additional cameras.
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G6
- Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF6
- Sony Alpha SLT-A58
As always, you can grab it from Software Update under the Apple menu, or download it directly from support.apple.com/kb/DL1666

I’m new to this, but its great fun. My problem: The sorting mechanism for iphoto is so absurd it’s not worth mentioning. So I bought PhotoManagerPro since my main goal is to assemble a specific order of both imported photos and clip arts from Google. OK, first find all the photos and put them in a file. Then sort however. Now PhotoManager Pro could very well come with the worst instructions of all time, but I managed through trial and error to rearrange all my photos in the order I wanted. Now what? There is a sort choice called “My order,” and I assume that has something to do with the order that I just manually defined, but when I press this the order seems random, meaning I just wasted a lot of time. So how does one memorize the manually arranged order of the photos? Also, after leaving the file, when you come baxk to it everything is a mess. There is apparently no way to Save. And finally, if you crop and pan in a series of files,mthis information is also lost.

I’m having a terrible time with the G6 RAW conversion. Aperture’s really going overboard on the chroma noise reduction even at lower ISOs, washing out the fine detail… Here’s a post I made on the topic on the dpreview m43 forum:

Relative to the OCC JPEG and SilkyPix, it’s not very good… (I could have turned up the chroma noise reduction in the silkypix file, I just didn’t bother - the results are the same)
Not a lot of people have the G6 yet, so this isn’t a problem that people are screaming about unfortunately.
