Colour Calibration Software not Working with M.L. #1

I realize this isn't an Aperture issue but I'd rather seek support here than on some other Apple Forum. After upgrading to M.L. yesterday , I can no longer use my Eye-One Match Colour Calibration software. When I try to open the App I get a message stating, ” You can't open the application because Power P.C. applications are no longer supported.” Does that mean I have to purchase a new piece of Colour Calibration software that is ML compatible?

I'd much rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Craig - Eye-One Match stopped working in Lion. You can download i1Profiler and run it as is. The good news is it will profile your displays even if you have not purchased it. The bad news is that to profile paper you probably need to purchase the upgrade.

See my blog post, http://bit.ly/Nox3ut , and scroll down to the 2/13/12 update.

Thanks Jon. I downloaded that and when I tried to open it to install, ML wouldn’t allow me to do so. Got the message ” i!Profiler.mpkg can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac ‘App Store and identified developers. Can I change my security preferences or is that not advisable.

Yes, you can change the security preferences. You can always change them back after if you feel more comfortable.

You can also right-click and choose Open to bypass the security temporarily.

I tried that but it didn’t work, still got the same message box. How does one change security preferences in ML. You’ll have to excuse me, I’m hopeless when it comes to computers. Don’t understand much of the lingo.

By the way, is there a place on the Forum where one can read about how to “quote” parts of other posts, attach screen shots etc.

Craig,

Are you certain?

If you double-click, you’ll see this: [screenshot]

If you right click and choose open [screenshot], then you should see this: [screenshot]

To change your settings permanently, open the System Preferences > Security & Privacy and change the “Allow applications from…” setting [screenshot].

Oh sorry, your second question…

Unfortunately there’s no quoting or screenshot embedding system here. Sucks. It’s a major limitation of Squarespace 5, and I can’t move to Squarespace 6 yet because it doesn’t have a forum module. D’oh!

As you can see in the text below the reply box, there’s some text that says “Some HTML allowed” and lists what is. I have a series of TextExpander snippets to insert code in these text boxes easily, and I use a service called Jing to capture, mark-up and upload screenshots which is what I embed like this: [screenshot]

For quotes, you can just put it in “quotes” or even italics by using an opening and closing code (no spaces) if you want to get fancy.
