Many of us are fortunate enough to have multiple Macs. Maybe a couple at home, or a desktop and laptop, or one at home and another at work. Whatever the situation, if you’re using Aperture on both systems (especially if you’re using a common library that you’re shuffling around on a hard drive) having differences in the settings and presets can be frustrating. In this post, we explore where all those settings live so you can easy copy them from one system to another.

Typing Dates in Aperture

It seems that you can use the English way of Date naming, 24/07/2007, instead of the US way, 2007-07-24, in Aperture and it is still recognised in a search. All the discussions I have read seem to recommend only using the US way. Thought I would mention it.

Applying Your Favorite "Look" at the Time of Import

Do you find yourself consistently applying the same “look” to your photos in Aperture? For example, you always increase saturation, lower exposure, recover highlights, etc.? If so, then consider saving those as a preset and applying at the time of import to save a step down the road.
