If the additional menu bar on your multiple displays are bugging you in Aperture when using all that screen real estate, there’s a way to turn it off — but it comes at a price.

Aperture upgrade dialog: there’s no going back!

Aperture 3.5 is the latest version of Aperture, and it requires OS X Mavericks (10.9). So what happens if you have an older Mac that can’t go to Mavericks, running Aperture 3.4.5, and want to upgrade Aperture? Put simply… you can’t.

As far as Camera RAW Updates go, this is a pretty small one — it adds only one new camera! It does also list a couple of bug fixes for previously supported cameras though.

The traffic on the @ApertureExpert twitter account was out of control yesterday with reports of people seeing Aperture 3.5, and not seeing it, or seeing it and not being able to update, or seeing it but being asked to pay for it… however as expected, things are calming down this morning.

Why is the SmugMug logo on the Aperture 3.5 update announcement post? Because Aperture 3.5 adds “New integration with SmugMug, with support for publishing and syncing galleries directly to a SmugMug account”. Oh yeah…

Downloading Mavericks!

Downloading OS X Mavericks now. Perhaps there will be a compatibility update for Aperture that will show up once Mavericks is installed? If anyone beats me to the install, let us know if anything for Aperture shows up after that.
